Odds and Ends

Now that the August birthdays are long over and I still haven't fully organized my new photo system,  here are some pictures of the cake I made as a surprise for everyone coming back from overseas. 

Here's the inspiration for my cake. So peaceful and innocent.

And here's how it turned out.  A much more accurate depiction of their true nature.

 The funky candles I found for it. Also amazingly the same colour as my decorations.

The icing I bought at my childhood cake shop. Simone and I enjoyed re-living it's flavour and how much I used in the middle.
